Denmark’s Maja Voigt has won monobob gold at the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG), her country’s first gold of the at Gangwon 2024. 16-year-old Voigt won in a combined time of 1:53.31, which was 0.86 quicker than 17-year-old Agnese Campeol, who took a historic silver for Thailand. Mihaela Alexia Anton of Romania finished in bronze medal position making it a great day for young bobsleighers from an Olympic legacy project for developing nations. 17-year-old Campeol has thrived from a Legacy Foundation programme of the Winter Olympic Games Pyeongchang 2018. The PyeongChang Legacy Foundation’s (PCLF) New Horizons Camp is aimed at developing athletes from countries with no existing infrastructure.
