Description
16-year-old Minja Korhonen excelled in Ski Jumping and Cross-country to win Finland’s first gold of Gangwon 2024 in the Nordic Combined Individual, while Austria’s Andreas Gfrerer took the Men’s event. The distance jumped on hill decides the start order for the cross-country section, with the athlete who jumps furthest is first off the line in the cross-country and the distance they led the jump by is converted into a time advantage, and then it is a race to the finish line. Korhonen was in Gold medal position after the Ski Jumping of the Women’s Nordic Combined and extended her lead in the 4km Cross-country discipline to 47.2 seconds to top the podium.
