Flora Tabanelli is halfway to emulating Eileen Gu’s journey from Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) double Gold medallist to topping the podium in a home Olympics. Tabanelli is leaving Gangwon 2024 with YOG Gold medals in the Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle and Big Air, just like Eileen Gu did in Lausanne four years ago. In 2022 Eileen Gu then repeated her double success in front of her home fans at Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. In 2026 Tabanelli will have the chance to do the same at Milano-Cortina. The 16-year-old does not have to look too far for additional inspiration. Italian alpine skiing legend Alberto Tomba is a friend of Tabanelli’s family. The three-time Olympic Gold medallist is always on hand to pass on advice and support.
