Finland’s talented young team excelled in ski jumping and cross-country to win gold in the Nordic combined event at the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024. The quartet of Heta Hirvonen, Peter Räisänen, Eemeli Kurttila and Minja Korhonen took on the normal hill in ski jumping, then 4 x 3.3km of cross-country racing and finished a combined 14.4 seconds clear of Team Slovenia. Bronze went to Team Italy, a further 8.8 seconds behind the winning time, leaving Austria just outside of the medals.
