Sweden won the Women’s Ice Hockey Gold at Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024 by beating Japan 4-0 to take revenge for defeat in the final four years ago. Japan had beaten Sweden in the women’s final of Winter YOG Lausanne 2020, but this time Sweden dominated. Tilde Grillfors gave Sweden the lead after 12 minutes of the first period, and two minutes later Ebbe Westerling gave them a two-goal cushion. Early in the third period Nellie Noren scored Sweden’s third before Matilda Osterman put a seal on the win with seconds remaining - scoring into an empty net.
