Members of the IOC have gathered at the ancient birthplace of the Olympic Games as they prepare to look to the future and elect a new President. Ahead of the 144th IOC session, the opening ceremony took place in Ancient Olympia in Greece, where the Olympic Games were born almost 3,000 years ago. Seven candidates are in contention to become the tenth IOC President in the organisation’s history. Voting takes place during day two of the IOC session on Thursday.
