With the Olympic Winter Games approaching their final weekend in Italy, a special guest from Senegal joined the celebrations in Milan. Ayo, the mascot of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), visited Tina, the mascot of Milano Cortina 2026, The coming together of mascots celebrated the joy, unity and cultural exchange that define the Olympic experience. Ayo is a young lion whose name means “joy” in Yoruba, the symbol of Dakar 2026 and the energy of Senegalese youth. There are 250 days to go until Dakar 2026, the first time an Olympic event will have been staged on the continent of Africa.
