STORY HEADLINE: CHINA AND COLOMBIA COMBINE TO WIN DIVING GOLD IN THE MIXED INTERNATIONAL TEAM FINAL AT BUENOS AIRES 2018 DATE: 17 October, 2018 LOCATION: Buenos Aires, Argentina LANGUAGE: English, Mandarin, Spanish STORY SCRIPT: The final event of the diving competition at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 was the Mixed International Team Competition,with a diver from China and one from Colombia combining for gold. For 17 year old Chinese diver, Shan Lin, it was her third gold medal of the Games, after winning in the 3m Springboard and 10m Platform earlier in the week. Her Colombian partner, 18 years old Daniel Restrepo-Garcia, gained his second gold medal at Buenos Aires 2018, having already won in the Men’s 3m Springboard. Despite being favourites, given their success in the individual disciplines, it turned out to be a tight contest. Lin and Restrepo-Garcia scoring 391.5 points, just marginally ahead of the final total for Germany’s Elena Wassen and China’s Junjie Lian of 390.10, earning them silver.
