STORY SCRIPT: On the occasion of a visit to Senegal, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach has planted a symbolic tree at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Village.   President Bach visited Dakar as preparations continue for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), which will see Senegal create history by becoming the first African country to stage an Olympic event. The forest project also extends to Mali and is designed to improve the lives of people living in the region and beyond.
