    • Description

IOC President and ORF Chair Thomas Bach has pledged to connect the Refugee Olympic Team with displaced communities in France and beyond ahead of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The Olympic Refuge Foundation (ORF), which manages the Refugee Olympic Team (EOR*), is working to ensure the Team promotes the inclusion of young people affected by displacement through participation in sport. President Bach and ORF Vice-Chair and UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, attended an event organised by the ORF’s flagship Terrains d’Avenir programme in Paris. The programme aims to provide 7,000 displaced young people in Paris and the surrounding Ile-de-France region with access to sport by 2025. The worldwide goal of the ORF is for one million young people affected by displacement to have access to safe sport by the end of next year.
