The Organising Committee of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024 has revealed the design for the reverse of the medals with 200 days to go before the start of competition at a special ceremony in Seoul.
Yuna Kim, who won figure skating Olympic Gold for the Republic of Korea in 2010 and is an ambassador for Gangwon 2024 unveiled the medals, which on the back have designs created by students at Gangwon Arts High School and Yanggu Middle School in Gangwon-do which celebrate the natural beauty of the region. Earlier in the year, it was revealed that the Brazilian Dante Akira Uwai had won the medal design competition for the front of medals, out of a record-breaking 3,000 design proposals that were submitted.
