      Germany’s Romy Ertl didn’t have to look far for inspiration as she embarked on her Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) journey at Gangwon 2024. The 16-year-old is the daughter of German Alpine skiing legend Martina, who won three Alpine skiing Olympic medals across five Olympic Winter Games. Romy’s bronze in the women’s Alpine combined at Gangwon 2024 was the same result her mother had at the Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake City 2002.
