Giorgia Collomb wins Italy’s second skiing gold of Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 in thrilling Women’s Giant Slalom at High 1 Ski Resort. It was 17-year-old Collomb’s second individual medal of Gangwon 2024. Having started her second run with a lead of 0.14 seconds, she slipped out of first place at the first intermediate split, but the speed she gained in the second part of the course took her to victory. Her gold followed silver in the Alpine Combined on Monday. Shaienne Zehnder (SUI) won silver, 0.11 secs behind Collomb, following her bronze in the women’s Super-G on Sunday. Astrid Hedin (SWE) finished in bronze medal position after climbing five positions in her second run.
