Emils Indriksons completed a hugely successful skeleton event for Latvian sliders at the Winter Youth Olympic Games at Gangwon 2024, with gold in the Men’s competition. 17-year-old Indriksons finished over a second ahead of 19 fellow competitors, but the silver medal was a landmark for the Ukraine team. It was won by 16-year-old Yaroslav Lavreniuk and was added to the bronze won by biathlete Polina Putsko earlier on Tuesday. The home crowd at the Alpensia Sliding Arena were delighted to see Korean Shin Yeonsu take the bronze in the Men’s event, holding off another Latvian - Davis Valdovskis - by just 0.11 hundredths of a second.
