A strong Italian quartet of biathletes won gold in the 4x6 km Relay at the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, pushing France into silver and denying Antonin Guy a fourth gold of the Games. Nayelli Mariotti Cavagnet, Carlotta Gautero, Hannes Bacher and Michel Deval were the biathletes who won yet another Winter Youth Olympic Games gold for Italy, two years before Milano-Cortina hosts the Winter Olympics. Italian women had already enjoyed a successful Games - Gautero won individual gold in the 6km sprint, and Cavagnet had taken bronze in the 10km.
