The day after Jonathan Lourimi made history as Tunisia’s first-ever Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) medallist he has been reflecting on his journey to the podium at Gangwon 2024. Lourimi won silver in the Men’s Monobob, sparking wild scenes of celebration at the Alpensia Sliding Track, but the impact of the medal has been felt far and wide. The 17-year-old is a product of the PyeongChang Legacy Foundation’s New Horizons Academy, a programme that gives opportunities to athletes from countries that do not have a winter sports programme.
