      The People’s Republic of China took gold in a thrilling Speed Skating Mixed Relay Final on Day 6 of the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024. The pair of Liu Yunqi and Pan Baoshuo beat Republic of Korea (Lim Leewon and Heo Seok) by 0.04 secs thanks to Pan Baoshuo’s lunge for the line, which saw him past Heo Seok in a photo finish. Netherlands had held the lead going into the final change over. Double gold medallist Angel Daleman handed over Sem Spruit ahead of the field but he was soon caught and had to settle for bronze. Japan finished fourth.
