Murase Yura (JPN) took inspiration from her sister Kokomo for her gold medal-winning performance in the snowboard big air at Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024. Kokomo won bronze in the same event at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and spoke with Yura before the competition at the Welli Hilli Park Ski Resort. Each athlete has three runs, and their best two scores are combined to give them their mark. Murase Yura’s scoring runs were her second and third for a total of 154.25, which was enough to keep her clear of silver medallist Rebecca Flynn (USA), with Lucia Georgalli (NZL) a further point behind in bronze medal position.
