Federico Pozzi won yet another gold for the outstanding Italy team at the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, his triumph coming in the Cross-country men’s sprint free final. Pozzi’s gold took Italy’s tally to 11 golds, having already become the first country to be in double figures for golds in a single edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games. This has demonstrated the level of young talent in Italy ahead of them hosting the next Olympic Winter Games - Milano Cortina 2026. Jakob Elias Moch (GER) took silver at the Alpensia Biathlon Centre, 33 seconds behind Pozzi’s time of 3:16.27. Tabor Greenberg (USA) won bronze.
