    As the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024 draw to a close, the legacy of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 looms large. Seven of the 12 venues used at Gangwon were venues that hosted events six years ago in South Korea, and thanks to projects of the PyeongChang Legacy Foundation (PLF) students and young athletes from several countries have been introduced to winter sports. One of those programmes, The New Horizons Academy, paved the way for 39 athletes to qualify for the YOG. Two of them, Agnese Campeol (THA), women’s monobob and Jonathan Lourimi (TUN) men’s monobob won silver medals at Gangwon 2024.
