The young men’s Ice hockey team of Team USA have won ice hockey gold at the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024, beating Czechia 4-0 at the Gangneung Hockey Centre. The emerging stars of Team USA shone throughout the final, which they reached with an epic 6-5 shootout victory over arch-rivals Canada. The USA’s men have now won Winter YOG ice hockey gold twice, after their triumph at Lillehammer 2016. Despite their disappointment in the final, winning silver was a historic achievement for the Czechia team in its first Winter YOG ice hockey competition. They beat Team USA in the preliminary round and entered the final unbeaten.
