The Olympic Flame has been carried through Milan ahead of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 Opening Ceremony at the iconic San Siro Stadium on Friday evening (Feb 6). On the final day of the Olympic Torch Relay, IOC President Kirsty Coventry was joined by her predecessor and IOC Honorary PresidentThomas Bach, who took the flame from Italian swimmer Federica Pellegrini. IOC Athletes’ Commission Chair Emma Terho received the flame from Honorary President Bach. Trailblazing USA rower Anita DeFrantz and China’s basketball superstar Yao Ming were also torchbearers through the centre of Milan. It was DeFrantz, IOC Member and bronze medallist from Montreal 1976, who had the honour of passing the flame to President Coventry.
