    • Description

The International Olympic Committee has set out its strategy for the years ahead. Meeting in Lausanne, IOC Members have backed a plan called "Fit for the Future" - including, for the first time, direct grants for every Olympic athlete. At its 146th Session in Lausanne, the International Olympic Committee has endorsed a new strategic direction designed to keep the Olympic Movement, in its words, "fit for the future" - setting the IOC's course through to 2032. The strategy was proposed by IOC President Kirsty Coventry, and follows a wide consultation known as "Pause and Reflect" - one that drew in IOC Members, International Federations, National Olympic Committees, and more than two thousand two hundred athletes and athlete representatives. Coventry described the process as "a genuine opportunity to listen, to reflect and to shape the future of our Movement together".
